Toll-Free Numbers are Down

February 18th, 2011

As of 4pm Central, February 17 our toll-free numbers have been disconnected. I apologize to anyone trying to reach us.

Please call 262-251-8300 or send a fax 262-251-1616. Or, better yet e-mail directly at mark@ramflat.com.

The numbers affected:
800-233-3721 (This is our original number in use since early 1980’s and is given out to most contacts)
888-726-3528 (888-RAM FLAT) Used on ramflat.com
866-895-3283 (866-VYLEATER) Used in advertisements and vyleater.com
877-726-3528 (877-RAM FLAT) (This is only used with Thomas Register and TR Online)

In my infinite wisdom, I decided after 5 years to change phone carriers from TDS Metrocom to Time-Warner. As usually happens with things this important Time-Warner forgot to have the numbers moved and TDS decided they had had enough of me (I guess) and promptly disconnected all the numbers within 2 hours of the swtichover.

Time-Warner is working furiously but turning the switch back on may not occur until Monday (2/21) or Tuesday (2/22).

S&G anniversary

February 1st, 2011

In early 1961, two friends made official what had been in the planning stages for months – by formally incorporating their ideas into a real company.

These friends already knew how to run a business – after all they had running another one all along. But they needed a new vehicle that would allow them to stretch their imaginations. They needed the ability to try different ideas without worrying about employees and overhead.

Looking back, the first of many ideas perhaps seems simple: Moving a file cabinet without having to empty the contents first. But as any inventor knows even the simplest ideas have challenges. Eventually the idea was perfected, patented and the first of over 10,000 Lift-A-File cabinet handtrucks were built over the next 30 years.

Lift-A-File Product Flyer

Today marks the 50th Anniversary of S&G Enterprises, Inc.

My congratulations to those two friends, Al Saunders & Lorin Griffith for daring to live the their dreams. While the partners went their separate ways in 1964, their friendship continues to this day. It is from their innovation and desire for independence that this generation of S&G strives to offer innovative solutions to customers all over the world.

Thank you Dad & Al for allowing me to carry on the legacy.

Sincerely,
Mark J. Griffith
President
